As we already told you in our magazine section a few months ago, surfing will be part of the selected games for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

That is why the International Surfing Association (ISA) has been increasing its activities with the aim of promoting surfing, especially in countries with less surfing tradition.

Among these objectives is the licensing of surf instructor with 5000 new licenses granted in the year 2017 around the world. Courses were also offered to new countries joining the ISA, such as Iran and Lithuania.

One of the last courses offered by the ISA has been in Italy, from 14 to 17 March, where several coaches from all over the country gathered at this important event.

The Olympic Games of 2020 are a great chance for our sport, “commented general secretary Alessandro Vanoi in his opening speech.

Let us hope that this great effort of the ISA to take surf to all corners of the planet is successful and we can enjoy in the Olympic Games an exciting show.
